Things to consider before purchasing Walking Shoe:

Before purchasing walking shoes, consult a Podiatrist. Each person's feet are different. Many of them are facing various ailments like overpronation and supination activation.  When you walk uphill or upstairs, muscles increase activation. The calf muscles play an important role in both. It can be hard to determine all of that on your own. Find a shoe with a fitting expert to help you to ascertain the best shoe for your walking distance, speed, style and surface and also your weight and stride.

There are three essential factors to make sure that you choose the right walking shoes. Look for important features by them on in the store and find a good fit

  1. Stability
  2. Flexibility
  3. Comfort

Examine the following five areas of walking shoes:

Snug heel counter -     The heel area of the shoe should comfortably hold the back of the heel. This area should be snug but not tight, comfortably cupping the back of the heel. If the heel counter fits correctly it will help prevent the feet from over pronation or supination. Midsole -     The area between the tread and the cloth upper of the shoe. This is the most important component of any footwear. Midsoles are made of a variety of materials like gel, foam or air that give the shoe greater or lesser degrees of cushioning, support, and flexibility. Touch and find out to assess their softness and resiliency. Insole -     The area inside the shoe, on the bottom, where the sole of the foot is in contact with the shoe. It should contour comfortably to the foot. It is designed to reduce shear forces between the foot and the shoe and provide some shock absorption. Toe box -     Spaciousness in the box , the entire area that surrounds the toes. It should be ascertained that the toe box area with adequate room allows the toes to wiggle and bend freely. Conversely, too much space is also not recommended because of shifting and discomfort. There should be approximately one half to a full thumb's width between the end of the longest toe to the end of the toe box. Out soles- Shoes that make contact with the ground are called outsoles. Check and ensure that shoes are with grooves. Grooves will help to create traction when you walk, which prevents slipping and falling. Breathability: Heart rate shoots up, when you are walking and your feet may sweat. Ensure that shoes have a breathable membrane. Also wear breathable socks. If moisture traps in, it will cause painful blistering and discomfort.
